| About LIUNA |
Laborers International Union of North America
The Laborers are one of the fastest-growing unions in North America. Established in 1903, there are now more than 800,000 labourers working in union locals across North America. Labourers fight for more work opportunity for workers and employers, and for better wages, good benefits and safe job sites.
Laborers unite for the voice we deserve on important political issues. Members help run the union, electing officers at all levels and participating in the day-to-day affairs of their local unions across North America. Members set priorities for contracts and are the key in the union's growth and success at increasing market share.
The mission of the Laborers is implemented through nine regions, 55 district councils, and more than 500 local unions in North America. Workers are members of local unions. Local unions work together in district councils, which are assisted by regional offices.
